Kristen Vollaro, MS, PTA, CNS, CDN
I'm passionate about helping people feel better in their body, integrate healthy lifestyle habits and finding solutions for health issues.
Are you overwhelmed by all of the conflicting nutrition and health information, wondering what you should incorporate into your life? Would you like to have a plan to address your health concerns? Would you like to feel good and make peace with your body?
My main focus in my work is empowering individuals with the tools and information they need to achieve their goals. I provide nutritional counseling as well as rehabilitative training and craniosacral therapy. I love the integration of balancing food, stress management, self-love and movement for better health.
With training in interpreting labwork and a solid understanding and background in physiological biochemistry, I’m able to investigate and address nutritional deficiencies and imbalances. In addition to a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition, I completed 1,000 hours of post-graduate supervised practice to earn the advanced credential of Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS). I am licensed in the State of Connecticut as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN). In addition, I am an experienced and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), and certified in Craniosacral therapy, Graston Technique, and LSVT.
As part of my practice, I work with other health care providers, including doctors, naturopaths, physician assistants, physical therapists, acupuncturists, therapists and others, offering nutritional intervention as part of care spectrum. I use evidence-based data when creating interventions and protocols. All of my treatment plans are personalized for each client’s individual needs. I run a weight-neutral practice, which means I do not use weight loss as a metric of success.
When I'm not working, I like hanging out with my husband, kids and my Labrador Retriever, Ivy. I also enjoy boxing, running, hiking and experimental cooking and baking.
